It’s the technique of using a sheet of copy paper to create a stencil. Steve will give a brief tutorial on how to create a stencil from an original drawing or black and white image\, showing how to link the interior parts of the design to the exterior parts. From that point he will demonstrate how to cut the stencil either with scissors or an X-acto knife. Upon completion of the cutting of the stencil the next step is printing the image. This is accomplished by using the printing ink as the adhesion agent as you simultaneously print your image onto t-shirt or garment. Students must be able to operate scissors and bring a plain t-shirt.\n\n\nKid’s Art Extravaganza is FREE to all kids. Please register at office@lakecityareaarts.org. Thanks to Greater Lake City Community Foundation.

SUMMARY:Jacci Clark Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Eyes of the Woods Exhibit by Jacci Clark is opening Friday August 19 and will go to September 10\, 2022.  Jacci Clark\, a watercolor artist\, hails from Plainview\, Minnesota. Jacci minored in graphic arts in college\, but her path took a different turn when she started working in the medical field. In 2018\, after a 34-year hiatus from art\, she took up her pencil and started drawing again. \nJacci’s niche is capturing the expression in a subject’s eyes\, whether it is of a person\, animal\, or bug. “Get the eyes right and you’ve captured the soul\,” shesays. Her portraits were initially done in charcoal and graphite pencil with the goal of giving as realistic and detailed representation as possible. Eventually she transitioned to watercolor. Jacci found watercolor requires a different mindset. She now paints in a loose\, almost reckless\, fashion\, letting the watercolor work its magic. \nArtist  Reception will take place Saturday\, 9/10 at 5 PM.  Please come and meet the artists and enjoy some refreshments and light appetizers.
