SUMMARY:Flotsam! River Circus
DESCRIPTION:August 9th at Ohuta Beach Park in Lake City\, 6pm\nFLOTSAM! is a troupe of musicians\, circus performers and puppeteers traveling from place to place on a handmade raft\, giving free performances in every town along the way. During the tour\, the raft is our mode of transit\, our stage and often our home. In 2019 thousands came to see us perform as we toured on Oregon’s Willamette River from Corvallis to Portland. We followed this with tours of Lake Washington and Lake Union around Seattle in 2021 and from the Sacramento River into the San Francisco Bay Area in 2022. DESCRIPTION:Mixed Precipitation creates unexpected theatrical experiences through unique partnerships and festive events that inspire social engagement.\nSince 2009\, they’ve been bringing Minnesota the Pickup Truck Opera (formerly picnic operetta) – an annual harvest celebration that brings new life to old stories through music\, movement\, gardens\, food\, and visual extravaganza. Previous productions have included imaginative adaptations of Beethoven\, Mozart\, Handel and Purcell.\nThe Pickup Truck Opera has toured the metro and greater Minnesota\, performing in community gardens\, urban farms\, orchards and vineyards.

DESCRIPTION:Loud Mouth Brass  and InnerTuba for all ages Sunday\, August 20th at 7 pm at Ohuta Park! The alternate location in case of inclement weather is Lake City Area Arts. \nYour ears will smile and your toes will tap when you hear Loud Mouth Brass. With a splash of New Orleans and a pinch of pop music\, Loud Mouth Brass has a tasty musical recipe. While the band’s instrumental arrangements of music spanning the gamut from The Jackson Five to Fall Out Boy will make your feet get the urge to dance\, with several originals in the mix\, this brassy band still makes sure to keep things fresh. From the top of its blue sousaphone to the bottom of its thumping bass drum\, this band exudes fun!\n \nJon Hodkin aka InnerTuba\, a Tricycle-Traveling Tuba player\, will reside in Lake City for a week in mid-August. He’s making his way up the Mississippi River\, entertaining communities along the way. \nThese events are made possible through a partnership of the Lake City Area Arts\, the Lake City Public Library\, and the Lake City Music Boosters.
