DESCRIPTION:Witnessing Waves (Alison Price) pays homage to the historic trees along the Mississippi River and the generations they’ve quietly watched live under their branches as the DNA of generations pass on by. \n\n\nWitnessing Waves\n\n\n\n\nThe Mississippi River Gorge and her wealth of heritage trees has always intrigued me. This series pays respect to these gentle witnesses of migration and settlement along our mighty river\, these magnificent\, steadfast trees. The trees welcome all. \nThe series is full of symbolism too. Our DNA strands are wrapped in the tangled roots and riverbanks\, reminding us of our connections to each other and the planet. The tiny squares\, the leaves\, were inspired by the mosaics of Ravenna\, Italy. The sixth century artists used tiny glass tiles to create extraordinary works of art. I like to think of the squares as opportunities to be shared. \nI am inspired by the landscape\, geography\, history\, and culture of places. This series wraps arms around many of my passions.\n​\nThis series\, Witnessing Waves\, was featured on the award winning\nPBS series MNOriginals.

SUMMARY:Dunquin Irish Trio
DESCRIPTION:Dunquin Irish Trio (sometimes a duo) was born about fifteen years ago to play the traditional music of West Kerry in Ireland; since then\, the band has branched out to other Celtic music and even Scandinavian music. The town of Dunquin in County Kerry was a major embarkation point of Irish emigrants to America; hence our name reflects a strong Irish-to-American connection. Dunquin performs at festivals and events in Minnesota and Wisconsin\, including the Minnesota Irish Fair and several historic sites. \nDunquin presents several concerts every year and is available for weddings\, parties and celebrations of all kinds. Dunquin has recorded two studio albums and several live concerts. Its members include Sherry Ladig (piano)\, Don Ladig (flute and whistles) and Rosa Wells (fiddle).

It’s designed to get the next generation of water skiers out on the lake and having fun. “We do it for Ralph!” \nThe Get on the Water Event will be held during 2024’s Water Ski Days on June 28\, 2024\, 11am-4pm. Water Ski Days occurs from June 27th-30th in 2024. \nTo register\, click on the “Get on the Water Here” button at waterskidays.com  \nThe USA Water Ski & Wake Sports National Get on the Water Program coincides with the anniversary of Ralph Samuelson being the first to successfully water ski on July 2\, 1922\, in Lake Pepin\, Minnesota. It was designed to provide a fun\, non-intimidating environment where participants can learn to water ski for free. \nALL Get on the Water events are sanctioned by USA Water Ski & Wake Sports with certified drivers\, instructors\, and safety officials. \nUSA Water Ski & Wake Sports was formed in 1939 as a non-profit organization promoting water skiing in the United States. The show is dedicated to the fans\, and they do most of the entertaining. Mostly impromptu\, the show moves with the speed of lightning and changes direction as soon as “the pied piper” notices a lag. “Never a dull moment” was never a more true description. \nSurrounding himself with the finest musicians in the Midwest\, the band rocks\, picks\, and thunders along for 3-4 hours\, almost non-stop from the first song to the last laugh. Millions of people have seen Johnny over the years\, and millions of people have been part of his fantourage. The band plays in most of the United States but most dates are in the 5 state upper Midwest area. \nAsk anyone with a twinkle in their eye or a knowing smile about Johnny. They’ll try and tell you all about the mayhem that masquerades as a rock and roll band.
