Heritage Tree Trail

Visit Lake City MN - WHAT TO DO - Patton Park Heritage Tree Trail

Ten trees selected as Heritage Trees can be viewed and enjoyed on a short walking trail.

A Heritage Tree can be any tree that has special qualities. Similar to historic buildings, Heritage Trees provide a link to our past and they directly connect the community with nature. Heritage trees can be selected because they are uniquely old, large, unusually shaped, associated with a particular history or commemorative event, or are distinguished for other reasons such as thriving in an unusual locale. Ten trees selected as Heritage Trees can be viewed and enjoyed on a short walking trail that starts at the Mississippi River shore at Ohuta Park, continues past the Lake City Library, and ends in Patton Park.
