Root River Jam

January 25, 2026 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

The band performs the original music of David Ross Wilson. Growing up the son of a veterinarian, he helped with work on many farms within the Root River region of MN. His mother taught David and his siblings to play piano and sing melody and harmony. His songwriting combines life’s experience of love, longing, and learning with his love for music. His songs are a telling experience of his life in relationships gained and lost, social conscience and greater good, and good fun with people you love.
Root River Jam elevates musical improv through the fusion of blues, country, rock and americana music. Their music draws from the spark of creativity and individuality in each musician, producing songs and sounds that draw you in to their eclectic style!
Listeners instantly connect with expressive melodies, improv, and interaction. Recalling the “Jams” of the past and renewing the dreams of the future! If you love “Americana Roots” music, like Mumford and Sons, Dave Matthews and Bonnie Raitt, then you’ll love Root River Jam.
Meet the Band:
Blake Bonde (Upright Bass) – Rochester native and graduate of the University of MN in musical performance. He brings an extended musical vocabulary to their songs with furious pizzicato to lush arco sounds.

Miles Johnston (Drums/Vocals) – Has a dynamic style and broad musical background, bringing rhythmic finesse to their fusion styles. Lives near Lake City, MN and has played with many groups throughout the region.
The group had their first gig in Lanesboro, MN in 2012, which continues to be a favorite area for the band to play. With a performance history of 12 seasons and over 440 shows at various music venues, fairs, and festivals throughout Minnesota, they bring seasoned talent to our stage.
